DAVOS: While attending the World Economic Forum in Switzerland this week, Prime Minister Hun Manet is holding over 40 meetings with foreign leaders and businesspeople to attract investment to Cambodia. So far, he has met with CEOs and representatives of major companies in tech, tourism, finance and agriculture.

On January 16, Prime Minister Hun Manet paid a courtesy call on Kuok Khoon Hong, CEO of Wilmar International Group During the meeting, Kuok Khoon Hong informed the PM about his company's intention to seek investment opportunities in Cambodia’s agriculture industry with a focus on the entire production chain of rice and sugarcane including cultivation, harvesting, processing, packaging and exporting to international markets.

The PM welcomed the opportunity to improve the living standards of the Cambodian people. Wilmar International Group is a major agricultural company established in 1991 in Singapore. The company has advanced technology in agriculture, from cultivation, processing, packaging, supply and distribution, and its main products are coconut oil, cereals, flour and sugar.

Meanwhile, Swiss technology company Bühler Group expressed interest in expanding its investment in Cambodia by bringing state-of-the-art technology to develop the agricultural sector.

On January 17, Prime Minister Hun Manet met with Bühler’s Director of Quality Management and Grain Supply, Mary Akinyi Olwal, who discussed using technology to develop Cambodia's agricultural industry, from planting to harvesting to processing to exporting processes.

The PM emphasized that his administration will give priority to the agricultural sector through financial support to boost production and market value while maintaining agricultural prices. He welcomed the company's intention to expand and bring new technologies to support Cambodia's agricultural production, human resource development and long-term and long-term storage of agricultural products.

The Bühler Group is a Swiss company that has been in business for 150 years, with operations in 140 countries around the world. The company focuses on food security and safety by evolving state-of-the-art technology in food processing, packaging and distribution. Bühler is also a leader in automotive technology, electronics, printing, packaging and glass technology.

The PM encouraged the company to continue to cooperate with relevant ministries and institutions, especially the Ministry of Agriculture, to help support and promote research and development.
